Mississippi Academic Assessment Program (MAAP) Skills

 

 

The MAAP Skills program focuses on helping students build the knowledge and abilities needed to meet and exceed the expectations of the Mississippi Academic Assessment Program. These skills are designed to strengthen core subject areas—English Language Arts (ELA) and Mathematics—so students can move from basic understanding to full mastery.

 

Key Goals of MAAP Skills Support:

 

  1. Identify Strengths and Gaps – Regular practice and review help pinpoint areas where students are confident and areas that need more work.
  2. Targeted Practice – Activities are matched to specific grade-level standards to make sure learning is focused and effective.
  3. Step-by-Step Growth – Skills are taught in stages, starting from foundational concepts and moving toward advanced applications.
  4. Test-Ready Strategies – Students learn how to approach different question types, manage time during testing, and check their work carefully.
